Snow plower piles snow from the road onto his neighbors driveway, gets angry when she asks him why he did that: 'He told me he’d take care of it, I should be so grateful to him, and to get out of his face.'

  • A snowplow clearing the snow from roads
  • Am I the bad guy for asking a guy why he piled a ton of snow in my driveway?

So we had a snowstorm, city doesn't plow the roads. Some guy in an ATV puts a plow attachment on his ATV and decides to plow the neighborhood.
  • He just does this on his own fruition. I heard him outside and looked out the window, he plowed a ton of snow from the street up 2 people's driveways.
  • He also piled a ton of snow around someone's car. Some of those people went and shoveled the snow out from around the car and the driveways after the guy left.
  • A couple of people that are standing in the snow
  • The guy also almost hit 2 cars parked on the street. The guy directly across the street offered to pay him if he plowed his driveway later.
  • He came back after the sun went down and plowed the driveway, pushing all the snow into my driveway.
  • I heard the ATV outside, saw a ton of snow in my driveway, and went outside to ask him why he was piling all the snow in my driveway.
  • Brown wooden fence near trees during daytime
  • He told me he'd fucking take care of it, I should be so fucking grateful to him, and to get out of his fucking face.
  • He later drove the ATV through part of my yard to push his snow pile out of my driveway.
  • Am I the A-hole? I know my communication generally isn't the best (I have autism) as I tend to be really direct, and it really bothers me when I get yelled at.
  • I just can't help but think I ticked this guy off and I'm an A-hole.
  • JorgontheBold NTA. You didn't ask for him to do this, you don't owe him anything, he should still be respectful of your property.
  • Useless890 Nor should he have talked to you that way.
  • Tryn2Contribute NTA - he was being a jerk. He has a toy and wanted to have some fun. But while doing so, caused harm. Don't think you did anything wrong. 'cause you didn't
  • Dealer Alarmed3632 NTA. This sounds like trespassing, and perhaps more laws were broken. Despite it just being rude, there may be actual legal ramifications for his behavior.
  • Svennis 79 NTA. Put up a sign saying 'Snow storage, $100 per foot per day, by pushing, moving or otherwise artificially adding snow to the property you agree to the terms' Minumum 4 days storage, payable immediately.
  • canvasshoes2 NTA he sounds like a menace! Also, I have to say, I love this typo. It fits the situation way better than the real word (volition, if you wanted it). >He just does this on his own fruition This guy is definitely a fruitcake. :D
  • kentuckyMarksman Original Poster's Reply Thank you, I agree! He almost hit 2 cars, menace was the exact word that came to my mind. He did the same thing last year but really just removed all the snow and left all the ice exposed making it harder to drive. No, not a typo, just me not knowing any better and using the wrong word. Thank you for the explanation though, I appreciate it! Would you believe English is my native language?
  • WifeofBath 1984 NTA you did nothing wrong. You communicated just fine. This guy is the asshole here
  • Creative_Garbage_121 Do you have his plates or do you know who he is? Inform police and let them take care of it, anf maybe talk with neighbours that get snow at their driveways and collectively ask the neighbours that used the service to stop doing that
  • kentuckyMarksman Original Poster's Reply I didn't see any sort of plates on the ATV, and O don't know who he is. When it warms up I think I'm going to walk around the neighborhood and try to figure out what house the ATV is at so I'll at least have an address to report should this be a problem again.
  • linxramblr Are you exaggerating the interaction? I can't imagine that a guy doing the ultimate winter storm kindness would talk to you that way, and it's easy to imagine that YTA because you can't recognize the favor he'd performed for the neighborhood
  • kentuckyMarksman Original Poster's Reply Not exaggerating.
  • Flimsy-Fortune-6437 You had every right to ask him why he was plowing snow onto your property. He also should not have driven across your lawn.
